We've been working on this unique fusing technique to create a large fused glass bowl.
First Dan expertly cuts out of Bullseye sheet glass 2 cirlcles of clear glass. Then he cuts the
streaky blue, opque white slivers & swath of transparent turquoise glass. All three layers are fused together. After they are fully fused, the glass is slumped into a bowl mold to create our final piece 6" x 22". It's a great technique to make larger and heavier pieces than I can comfortably carry on the end of a blow pipe. I love the aspect of fusing, combining lucious colors in fluid designs.
Stay tuned for more fused glass commissions. Next job is a very cool wall art piece!
